Recently, we were in California photographing some really fun family sessions. A beach session in La Jolla, another in Mission Beach, one at Balboa Park and some other portrait sessions around San Diego. One family had to cancel at the last minute.
We were in Solana Beach enjoying the beautiful weather when a text came through from the family letting us know about the fog in Coronado. We had a family portrait session scheduled later that afternoon at the beach in front of the Hotel del Coronado. Fog? It was gorgeous where we were. How could that be possible? They sent us pictures that showed how dark and foggy it was at the beach. They were only about 20 minutes south of where we were. Crazy! Needless to say, a family session in dark fog is not ideal. Time to reschedule!
So we ended up postponing the session until the family was back in Scottsdale.
Well it wasn’t Coronado Beach but it was still a beautiful day at the McCormick Stillman Railroad Park – affectionately known in our family as “the train park”.
This brother and sister are just so adorable and growing so quickly. This may sound corny, but I really enjoy seeing how the kids grow from year to year. I love looking back at previous year’s sessions and seeing how the kids have changed. Quite honestly, I usually tear up.
Being given the opportunity to document a family (especially year after year) is such an honor! One that we treasure.
